contact policy

What messages I respond to

01

Manner and courtesy

I do not respond to messages that appear to lack basic courtesy or respect. This means messages should reflect some acknowledgment of the other person, be written with minimum care. Aggressive, insulting, or threatening content is treated the same way.

02

Message length

Messages that are too short are automatically filtered out. Messages below a certain character count may go unread regardless of content. This is both a spam measure and a way to ensure a minimum of sincerity in reaching out.

03

Solicitation and commercial contact

I don't categorically reject solicitations, business proposals, or partnership requests. However, I do not respond to unsolicited messages involving money or interests where there is no apparent effort to understand who I am — messages that could have been sent to anyone. If a message reads as a template, it won't receive a reply.

04

Including an external link

Please include at least one external link that gives a sense of who you are — a social media account, blog, or anywhere your thinking or writing is gathered. This is the minimum needed to understand who is reaching out.

05

Legal action

Where legal action is deemed appropriate, I may pursue it. This includes threats, impersonation, copyright infringement, privacy violations, and other unlawful conduct. This policy is stated explicitly as a deterrent.

06

No guarantee of response

Even if a message appears to meet all of the above conditions, a response is not guaranteed. Time and circumstance may prevent a reply.
